Backdrop for ice climbing; Cordillera Blanca

We climbed mostly under an overcast sky, on the face of an inactive part of a glacier. Occasionally the dense cloud parted, revealing parts of the surrounding mountains.

This journey seems to be picking up a lot of touchstones! Like traveling through your heart. I love the progression.

Thanks Miguel. I've made it to Lima; leaving this afternoon for the 15 hour journey to Arequipa. If the Internet access remains this good, I'll be able to keep posting photos regularly (not necessarily in chronological order, though).

What a shot, Pete. National Geographic's editor would ask his photographers, "Why the hell can't you get a pic like this?"
